With winter season upon us along with a new year, everyone here at the Studio has taken the last few weeks on planning the upcoming year and what it means not only for us, but for all of you.

We have always had the mindset that we always have to continually work on profession, no matter what career you are in. Thus, we looked at how our collective can continually do what we originally set out to do – help other creatives in their career.

We looked at our current resources while talking with many creatives; from painters, to writers, musicians and many others to see what tools and resources were essential for their success, as well as other resources that are typically considered secondary to their career, and sometimes not pursued. We compared the resources we had on hand to those that creative professionals wanted and focused in several key areas to help bring these essential tools to everyone in the arts and related fields.

One of the biggest steps we have taken was to partner with Integrated Applications. They are a small international corporation specializing in application development. We have several planned apps planned for creative professionals and related businesses that can help further the arts. We are very excited about these developments and will announce more details in the coming future as we come closer to releasing these tools for everyone. We have begun development on the first of our toolsets and hope to have an early release later in the year, depending on testing and further changes that may come up.

When we talked to many creative professionals, one of the biggest concerns was the having an online site to effectively showcase their work, current undertakings, CVs, resumes and contact information. Many expressed anxiety whether it was the cost, convenience and reliability of different platforms. Cost effective solutions typically were not effortless and involved some technical know-how and sometimes hours of troubleshooting to get up and running. Easy to use platforms could be setup quickly, but monthly subscription costs added up quickly. Along with limited customization options many of these platforms became unfavorable.

Free platforms and social media have ease of use and connect you to your contacts effortless, but customization is extremely limited and you are under the rules and limitations of whatever platform you’re on.

Recognizing this, we have further established our partnership in technology and offer technology solutions for creatives at industry prices. This will include managed hosting (or self hosting if that’s your preference), email and even customizable templates. Whether you plan to have an online portfolio, informational site, we hope to create a platform that allows creative professionals to get online seamlessly, quickly and prices only available for those related to the arts.

We have brought on additional people to help realize these planned projects, but as our heart is in the arts, we are also adding additional artists to the collective soon and will make official announcements in the coming weeks as well!

I know many of this seems somewhat vague, but we wanted to let everyone know that we’ve been busy and provide an initial roadmap for the many exciting things for the year! Many hands are on deck for our biggest project – an ongoing film series that we hope many of you will enjoy. We have been filming silently over the last couple of months and will continue to do so this year along with editing and miscellaneous production tasks so no timeline is set yet for this, but this is one project we are really excited for.

We want to thank all of you that have been along for the ride, without you guys, many of this wouldn’t be possible.

Best,

Sherwin
